Hello Lovelies,
We hope you had a wonderful Easter and indulged on plenty of chocolate Easter eggs. Master and I decided to take part in the Cadbury Worldwide Hide, hiding Easter eggs for one another in favourite locations. The funniest part? Despite being able to chose almost anywhere in the world, we both chose locations not ten minutes apart in the heart of Cornwall!
And so without further ado…
What Happened In April?
1. We Were Approached By A PR Agency
This was probably the biggest development for us this month, we were approached by a PR agency to begin working with them. It was scary and exciting for me because you know that when an agency recognises your value to their clients, you know you’ve made an impression on them! I thank Michael so much for all of his guidance with ways to improve my blog, as well as the conversations we’ve had on various topics. I’ve taken all feedback onboard and have begun (incrementally!) improving my blog, and I’m definitely starting to see the fruits of my labour, so thankyou again, Michael!
2. We Were Sent Another Sex Toy For Review
I was honest about this in the subsequent review post: I’ve accidentally broken the Lovehoney Forum guidelines a few times and so I thought our odds of being selected for another sex toy review were pretty dim, but I saw a bondage set available and so I thought I’d apply for it anyway. Surprise! We were selected within a matter of days and we are more than delighted with the product that we received to review – I think they’ve even become my new favourite set! If you haven’t read it yet, be sure to check out our review of Bondage Boutique’s Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set here.
3. We Started Our Youtube Channel!
Thanks again to Michael for his recommendation on this exciting adventure, Ten Shades & Me now has a Youtube channel! Primarily it will be used to make feature videos for product reviews, but we’d love your suggestions for other ideas too. So let us know what you want to watch! Nothing too risquey though please, peeps. After all, it’s Youtube, not OnlyFans 😉

4. We Caught Up With my 90-Year-Old, Quick-Witted Auntie
When my Mum invited me to visit her house to catch up with my Aunt Allie, who is 90, I thought that the conversation was going to be a bit challenging at times – nothing of the sort! Aunt Allie is still very cognizant, her hearing is excellent and her wit is sharp as a tack! I learned so much about her that I didn’t already know, including that we both wanted to join the police force when we were young. We discussed technology too and the subject of Google StreetView and AI came up, so together with Master and my brother, I introduced Aunt Allie to both. She liked being able to see her front door on the internet, but most of all, she loved using AI to imagine how her fantasy castle-home might look!
5. I (Finally!) Started C-PTSD Therapy
I knew that something was up when, whilst dozing on the sofa, I kept getting auditory hallucinations of my mother screaming at me to get up. Along with my low self-worth and negative internal voice, I knew that I had work to do.
It’s been on the agenda for a while, but with blog work and home commitments, starting C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) therapy was something I’d struggled to actually make time for. Now and with thanks to the Obedience app, I am finally making time for it – and getting rewarded for doing so! I’m a bit annoyed that the book I have doesn’t make any mention of auditory flashbacks or how to cope when they happen, but overall, I’m grateful that it’s helping me learn to love and accept myself, to treat myself with kindness and patience, and to see that other peoples’ problems are not my own.
6. I Took Up Walking Again
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I used to walk regularly. That all stopped when I broke my foot in June 2020, yet over the years I’ve become increasingly aware of both how much time I spend indoors and how much weight I’ve gained. I wanted to do something about both, and I wanted to do something about my stress at the same time – so I decided to retake up shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing”.
Near us is a lovely woodland walk, which I like to take whenever it isn’t raining and muddy. I can’t walk as fast as I used to because of some lasting foot pain, but hey, at least I’m back out in nature again!
That’s it from me for this post! What did you do for Easter? How did you celebrate it? Give this post a like, share, or leave a comment below. Alternatively, click here for more news & updates posts!
