Hello Lovelies and welcome back to another sex toy review!
Today, we are going to be taking a look at the Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Wartenberg Pinwheel.
This pinwheel is where things really start to get quite exciting in our sex toy collection – spiky, prickly things are a firm favourite of ours!
You remember a few weeks ago I introduced you to our “baby pinwheel”? Well, today I am introducing you to our first “proper” pinwheel – nothing too scary just yet! If you’re curious about sensation play, you really can’t go wrong with a pinwheel, but this one looks a little bit more sinister than the little one!
Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Wartenberg Pinwheel: Product Description
The Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel is a stainless steel pinwheel designed for all of your sensation play and medical play needs. Explore new sensations by tantalising your partner with more than a dozen tiny “pins”, or get on their last nerve as a naughty nurse before you cure them with mind-blowing pleasure!
How It Looks
The Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel arrives in a printed box and on a plastic tray, the box also contains a printed storage bag to keep your pinwheel clean and dust-free, wherever you are.
Measuring approximately nineteen centimetres by three centimetres, this highly polished stainless steel pinwheel can look quite intimidating to the newbie. With some carefully-created lighting, you can have their heart racing – long before the pins even touch your partner’s skin!
The handle of the pinwheel has raised ridges to make grip easier and the side of the pinwheel is engraved with the “Fifty Shades Darker” insignia – bringing a dash of Christian’s Red Room to your playroom!

How It Handles
I’ll admit it, the Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel is a regular in our BDSM play sessions, and for a good reason — Master Levi loves to use it on me! For the sadist, it’s something of an essential — I suppose us submissives just don’t squeal quite right unless you torture our blindfolded, defenceless bodies a little!
Weighting exactly 60 grams in weight, the Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel is quite light and versatile. Manoeuvrability is a little bit tricky if you try and draw out elaborate, swirly patterns, but it works quite well for straight and wavy lines!
The handle fits quite perfectly in the palm of the hand, and the ridges add enough grip that you don’t need to worry about it slipping. Keep the pinwheel relatively level to your submissive’s body, or angle it slightly and add a little pressure to enhance the experience! Whichever you decide, the pinwheel fits comfortably in your hand and it rolls across the skin with ease!
iI grip is an issue, you can add a piece of pipe insulation to the handle to widen it – we fine 10mm pipe insulation works best!
How It Feels
In a word, I love, love, love the pinwheel — just don’t tell the sadist I said that, please?! I am a masochist, and I do love the way that the pinwheel can turn me first into a growling, snarling ferocious beast hellbent on freedom, then into a complacent subby-puddle!
Despite having “pin” in its name, the pins of the Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel are actually slightly blunted and as such, they do not penetrate the skin. With a blindfold they can feel as if they’re doing some damage, but they don’t — just imagine your partner’s face when you whip the blindfold off and reveal no damage at all!
If you like sharp sensations, you need a pinwheel in your life! The pins offer a very precise, pressure-pain sensation that feels like a blade, but you can feel that the sensation is made from tiny needles if you just pay enough attention! Apply it to your partner’s chest, back, thighs, arms, breasts and more, the choice is all yours!
Do you like more intense pain? Even with moderate pressure, the Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Metal Wartenberg Pinwheel is extremely unlikely to do any lasting damage. Okay sure, so you’ll probably have some indents on your skin, and you might have a bit of localised redness too, but hey, what’s BDSM play without a few marks? 😉
A little note for self-harmers and those with subs who self-harm: we find the pinwheel applied to the insides of the wrist as a great alternative to the sensation of cutting. Being someone with a history of cutting, one of the things that I really miss sometimes (especially in times of hardship) is the sensation of cutting. Applying ice to the insides of my wrists can be a great relief, but the pinwheel can really replicate the sensation, without causing any damage to the recipient 🙂
Fifty Shades Darker Adrenaline Spikes Wartenberg Pinwheel: The Verdict
This one’s a safe all-rounder; it’s affordable, and it’s fun! It’s fun to use and just as fun to receive. Just one question: Is it playtime yet? 5/5.
