Today, we are going to be taking a look at the Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set from Lovehoney!
First of all, a huge thankyou to the wonderful people at Lovehoney for selecting Master and I to review this set through the Lovehoney Sex Toy Tester Programme. Although we absolutely love reviewing the other wonderful and great sex products out there, one of the things that Master and I discussed quite recently was our desire to get back on track with the brand – we wanted to bring the focus back to BDSM, and Lovehoney must have heard our call! We’ve had a lot of requests to review sex dolls recently, and though they’re fun, we want to make sure that we’re keeping it kinky. After all, that’s what Ten Shades & Me is all about!
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think we had much hope of being selected to test a product on behalf of Lovehoney again. I’ve accidentally broken their forum guidelines a few times, totally unintentionally and sometimes even in ways that felt a littte bit petty to me, though I now understand that they were probably just trying to protect their brand. With that being said, I am extremely grateful to have been proven wrong, especially with a kinky product to test and something that seemed to be quite new to the Bondage Boutique range. So, that’s why we decided to review this sensational set on our blog this week as well – to give it the full exposure that it totally deserves!
Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set: Product Description
The Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set features two gorgeous padded faux leather cuffs with velveteen lining and silver D rings, as well as a matching adjustable blindfold. This set also comes with a connector chain for the cuffs.
How It Looks
As usual, when it arrived, the Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set came in a simple, tough plastic bag. I felt kind of underwhelmed by that, and I do think it could be better. A printed cardboard box would probably be nicer, and would be recyclable to boot.
The Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set features two black faux leather cuffs with a matching blindfold. Both are decorated with debossed metallic red hearts and ruby red stitching, giving this set quite the allure. I couldn’t help but think of Harley Quinn with this set, something for the Batman DC comic enthusiasts out there!
If I can have one gripe about this set, I’m not loving the care labels on the side of the product, it makes it feel more like underwear than sexy accessories. I found them irritating during play too, so we ended up carefully cutting them off with a pair of nail clippers. I get the idea behind having them there, but I just think care instructions could be handled much better. A removable card packaging tag, rather than a stitched on fabric one, or a little leaflet in the bag. There are better options.
How It Handles
Given the newness of this set, it was admittedly a little tough to do up at first and I did struggle a bit. I’m used to velcro cuffs now, so I’d almost forgotten the fight I used to have with leather and pleather cuffs. It’s something worth being aware of, because if you struggle with dexterity issues like I do, buckles might be a bad choice for you.
I really like the slider on the blindfold on this set. The Bondage Boutique Black Rose blindfold doesn’t have this feature, so it is impossible to adjust it if it’s a bit loose for you. I find that blindfolds often slip off of me, so being able ot adjust it leads to a more secure bondage session, and a much better sensory deprivation experience!
The lobster clasp chain is worth a mention too, and you do get a generous six inches of sturdy play. Snap the cuffs together or loop them through the D ring on a collar first, the choice is all yours!
How It Feels
Maybe it’s just me, but I think the lining is slightly different on the Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold Set to what it is on the Black Rose set, and I think I prefer it better. It’s velveteen, rather than a short, fake fur, making it less itchy to wear. It’s cosy regardless, making it a wonderful bondage set that I never want to take off!
The added perk to the Bondage Boutique blindfolds is that they are super comfortable on your face, making it even possible to sleep in them. Not what they’re meant for, sure, but who doesn’t want to go to bed in bondage? We have a street light right outside our bedroom window, and the super cosy Bondage Boutique blindfolds mean that they double perfectly as an eye mask – regardless of whether sex is on the agenda!

There’s just so much to love about this set, and I thank the wonderful people at Lovehoney again for picking us to review it for free. From that gorgeous red sticking to those shiny red hearts and the super soft lining, it’s a must have for your bedroom antics! Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned BDSM enthusiast like us, the Bondage Boutique Hearts Cuffs & Blindfold set is for you! Reluctantly we’re awarding this set 4.5 stars out of five stars – the packaging could be better, and those pesky care labels need to go!
