Hey Lovelies,
This afternoon I had a conversation with my mother that I never imagined I’d have: Mum has just got back from a weekend break in Wales, and while she was there, her friend revealed that her son does gaming livestreams and has made more than £50,000 in the year that he’s been streaming.
And I won’t lie, that was kind of frustrating for me. I’ve been blogging for about eight years now, and in that time I’ve only made about £100!
One of my biggest grievances about what I do is that no matter what I do, I’ve never quite managed to break even — I’ve tried affiliate programmes, sponsored posts, subscriptions, donations, gift lists, coaching and more. Every month I’m paying out about £35 in overheads for Ten Shades & Me, and I don’t mind not being rich and famous, but at the very least I do want my work — that is meant to help other people — not to be coming out of the same money that is meant to help me.
So that got me thinking: could live streaming work for me? Again, not as a get rich quick scheme, but at least as a way to help me cover my costs.
Next question then: what would I live stream about?
About two weeks ago I told my partner, Valkyries, about the old TMI Tuesday blog posts that I used to take part in; they were fun trivia-style questions and a great way to get to know one another. I know that for Valkyries at least it would be fun to see something like that return, so then I wondered about doing a weekly Q&A, “ask me anything” style live stream, maybe under my first-ever blog name — that would so work as a livestream name — You, Me & A Cup Of Tea. Not without limits — I obviously don’t want to see my efforts demonetised — but I did wonder whether a livestream like that would help my audience feel a little more connected to me. We could talk about anything, from pizza toppings to new purchases, science and recent spankings.
So over to you, what do you think? Would that be something that interests you? I’d be looking at potentially starting next week, Wednesday 24th June 1-2PM BST if it goes ahead, on YouTube as I already have a channel there. It would also be hosted by me, Elena, alone as Master Levi will still be at work!
Please let me hear your thoughts below, and as always, thanks for being a part of my journey!

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations, you’re now emotionally invested. Go ahead and worship me properly. My writing chocolate won’t buy itself, you know? 😉
