Name your favourite BDSM related book (fiction or non-fiction).
I’ve picked out three books – two fiction and one non-fiction – for this question. One of the fiction books was gifted and the other I found, believe it or not, in a bargain book bin in a charity shop! Nonetheless, in no particular order they are…
1. House Of Maldona, Yolanda Celbridge
Set in Southern Spain, Chelsea girl Jane (“Jana”) sets out on quest to discover a social club once told to her by her friends. Along the way, Jane also comes to discover more about herself.
I love the concepts of this book; I love that women are.in a hierarchical system and have to work their way up through the ranks by challenging one another and “battling” (forcing one another to orgasm) for their new status, yet men are always assumed Dominant, like knights. There are some incredibly sexy scenes in this book, including a very intimate examination that got “enjoyed” on more than one occasion!
2. Who’s On Top?, Karen Rendall
This was the one I found in the bargain book bin, and boy oh boy what a find!
Meet Jane O’Toole, a business analyst hired to assess a potential partnership with the oh-so-persuasive Dominic Sayers. Jane is determined not to be swayed by Dominic’s advances, and Dominic is determined not to lose to Jane. It’s the ultimate battle of the sexes, but who will win?
I love, love, love a playful power struggle between a Dominant and submissive – it keeps things hot, sexy and fun! Arguably and going by character assessments Dominic (aptly named) would be more of a Dominant sort, but he’s got his work cut out if he thinks he can wrap Jane around his little finger. With dicey deals, hot sex and plenty of witty banter, what’s not to like about this book?!

My Favourite Non-Fiction Book is…
3. Showing You The Ropes, Two Knotty Boys
If you’re into or curious about shibari (Japanese intricate rope bondage), this is the book for you. With easy-to-follow instructions, great safety advice and beautiful step-by-step glossy photos, this book has you covered.
A couple of confessions related to this book. First, the non-sexy one: my Mum has a wooden gate secured with rope at the side of her house. Unbeknownst to me, but she knows when I’ve been out into the back garden because I always tie the gate with a square knot, rather than reef knot like she and my brother use – it’s kind of become my kinky calling card! Secondly, and before gifting Master this book as a Christmas present (and whilst he was still living with his Dad), I bought a doll, stripped her and took the time, effort and energy to tie her in a full-body rope harness, armbinder and rope gag, then suspended her from Master’s bedroom lampshade. If you want to know, then yes, Master made absolutely sure my ass was smarting after that move! He’s never forgotten it though, and it always makes him smile!
That’s it from me for this post. What’s your favourite kinky book? Share your thoughts in the comments or read more of my 30 Days of Kink posts!
