Hello Lovelies and welcome to this exciting mini Melodeem review!
First, a big thank you to Mia from Melodeem for all of her help in getting these products to me. It has definitely not been without its trials and tribulations, as we’ll get onto in just a moment. Even in spite of that, Mia and I managed to bounce back with our partnership and collaborate for the best of this review, so that’s awesome!
So, what was it like shopping from Melodeem?
You guys know that I operate with full transparency on my blog, and even if things were such that I’d offered to sweep things under the carpet and move past them, being accused of foul play unfortunately tipped my decision against that. There’s been a lot to unpack, so, let’s get into it.
19th August 2025 – Initial Contact
I was first approached by Mia in mid-August to do a collaboration with Melodeem. I responded to Mia, and she sent me their expansive catalogue of kinky toys for me to see if I wanted to review some. I was immediately excited – there are a lot of manufacturers of cuffs and gags and blindfolds out there, but Melodeem manufactures some bigger BDSM stuff as well, like spanking benches, cages and bondage beds. Unfortunately and due to space limitations, we had to keep it small.
I explained to Mia that usually when I write a review, the company send me a product to review and keep in exchange for my honest review on my blog (and the Lovehoney website, in Lovehoney’s case) – that’s always been my way of doing things and that’s always worked for everyone involved. There was a bit of a hoo-ha as I was told that I would have to order the product through Melodeem’s Alibaba shop, then be refunded for the cost of the item, minus the $49 (£36) shipping. I don’t normally pay for shipping either but hey, the BDSM community needed this. So reluctantly, I agreed to this arrangement. However, I have updated my sex toy testing review page since, and will not be reviewing “free” products again that require me to order them first.
Mia also asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their candles at no extra cost, so again I agreed and picked a candle from the Melodeem candle catalogue that Mia sent me.
25th August 2025 – Order Placed
I ordered the small rectangular paddle through the Alibaba store, as instructed. I wasn’t refunded for the cost of the item right away and that was concerning for me. I didn’t hear any more for about two weeks either, though I received several emails asking me to confirm details (including the product) that were on my order receipt. I trusted the item cost may be refunded once the order was shipped.
2nd September 2025 – Order Modified & Cancelled
On 2nd September I received a notice that my order had been “modified” unexpectedly – Melodeem hadn’t charged me enough shipping, and Mia said that they were refunding me the original shipping cost and would invoice me the new, correct amount. Only a dollar more, but still.
Having been frustrated by having to confirm several already-known details at that point, the lack of item refund and now the increased shipping (that I hadn‘t been informed about, and besides, the candle was supposed to be free) on top, I drew a line and said that I’d like to cancel my order – I’ve never had a review be this stressful before!
So I placed an order cancellation request through Alibaba’s help centre, that was approved almost immediately, and I was refunded pretty much straight away. Nice and smooth, I thought I could go on with my life and leave this problem behind me.
3rd September 2025 – Items Shipped/ Deal Made
On 3rd September Mia emailed me again to tell me that the items had been shipped and that, once received, she would send me an invoice for the cost of shipping only. I responded in a curt and timely manner and said that I had already cancelled the order and been refunded through Alibaba and as such, the goods will be treated as a gift and no shipping will be paid. However, as a gesture of goodwill, I was willing to let bygones be bygones – I would write my review and act as though none of this had happened.
7th September 2025 – Package Refusal Accusation
Unfortunately, on 7th September Mia reached out to me to report that Melodeem had received a “non-delivery” penalty for the package, which she said was “discouraging” given I had been refunded for my order (which had been shipped in spite of my cancelled order, but anyway). I checked the (UPS) tracking and noted that it was due for delivery the following day, Monday 8th September, so I responded and told her that a delivery hadn’t even been attempted to my address yet, that I was at home and I have a safespace even if I’m out. I also felt Mia’s tone seemed rather accusatory, and I explained to her that the issue lie somewhere between UPS and DHL, not with me. Perhaps if Melodeem hadn’t shipped the cancelled order, they wouldn’t have received the penalty.
8th September 2025 – Mini Haul Received
I sadly didn’t receive an apology for the accusation, but I did pick up my box of samples on Monday, just as the tracking said I would. So, let’s see what we have!

Packaging & Shipping
Despite the drama mentioned above Melodeem’s packaging is 100% discreet, so I’m grateful for that. The smaller white box that the candle arrived in was a bit crushed, but hey, it’s flown halfway around the world and it’s been handled by DHL – you can’t expect perfection!
The paddle itself arrived in a simple plastic bag with a silica package.
Small Rectangular Wooden Paddle
Is it ever a good idea to give your Dominant a catalogue of toys and ask them to pick something to torture you with? Probably not, but that’s exactly what I did. Master deliberated over the selection a while but he eventually settled on the small rectangular paddle from Melodeem when I told him that the “sensual beaded paddle” – which features a wooden bead for Dominant partner’s to snap against their submissive’s skin – might be a bridge too far. Still, ever the sadist, I could be sure he’d pick something to whack me with.
The small rectangular paddle measures twenty-seven centimetres tip to tip and is made from rosewood, giving it a beautiful reddish hue. The paddle is beautifully crafted too, smooth with no sign of any splintering. It feels a little weighty but, I was assured, that’s not a bad thing!
So the burning question, how does it feel?
This is the first wooden paddle we’ve had or used, so it’s a new experience for me. I think because of its weight it delivers a deeper sensation, which I love and hate in equal measure. Master says that it handles well, and that he doesn’t feel he needs to use so much force to deliver as much sensation. Also, that the “thwack” it delivers compared to a leather paddle is more satisfactory. Nice.

Wooden Handled Massage Candle
Being a big wax play enthusiast, I almost jumped at the chance to review a candle on behalf of Melodeem. It is my life goal to create a kind of wax artwork (think Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” in wax on a willing “canvas”), but I’ll take whatever wax play I can get. Whether giving or receiving wax – I love it!
Melodeem’s candle range is extensive, and I really was spoilt for choice. I spotted this little wooden handled candle with the pourer though, and pouring is perfect for me!
Melodeem’s candles are made predominately from soy wax (low burning temperature), with a touch of coconut wax and beeswax added for easy clean-up. There’s no fragrance on this candle but the deep red is very bold – much more vibrant than some other candles I’ve used before!
The net weight of the candle is around 100 grams, with a 4.5 hour burning time.
Whether you drip or pour, this wooden handled massage candle is easy to handle and the small lip on the glass pourer gives you maximum control over where the wax lands. Even for someone like myself, who has some dexterity issues in my right hand, I found the candle relatively easy to use. There’s very little “zing” from the heat of the wax either, making it ideal for beginners and advanced wax play enthusiasts alike. And when you’re done, simply peel the wax off with your fingers… or get yourself some metal claws like the powers that be like to use!
Melodeem Mini Haul: The Verdict
Despite the issues we had with shipping and communication, we really liked both of the products sent to us by Melodeem and have definitely bookmarked their candle section for future purchases! I’m hopeful that Melodeem can learn from this experience and will consider checking shipping weights before shipping packages in future, and will think to liaise with customers where there is an increase, rather than changing orders and invoicing them unexpectedly. Customers like to feel in control of their spending, and giving your customers that control can go a long way for company-client relationships. All in, we’re giving Melodeem 3 out of 5 stars.
